U15′s Go From Strength to Strength
The U15′s as a team went through nearly 18 months without a win, but this season the group of players just keep getting better. Having suffered a narrow loss away to Southgate Compton in their first game, they have come along way to gain victory’s against Maccabi, Botany Bay and Southgate Adelaide. Last year, Southgate Adelaide proved just too strong for us, but the tables were reversed this year with many of lads having learned from their experiences.
Southgate Adelaide were going along smoothly until Bharvin Thakkar was brought onto bowl, Bharvin strolled up to the pitch and with a little shape demolished the Southgate middle & lower order to finish with 5 wickets. The bowlers were backed up in the field with Joe Smith taking two fine catches in the gully.
The target was a little over 100 but it wasn’t easy going as we lost the two openers early on. This brought Jamie & Janiel to the crease, this proved to be a good partnership with Jamie rotating the strike well allowing Janiel to relax and get himself in. Janiel did exactly this, he punished any loose bowling and paced his innings very well. When Jamie fell this brought Preetham to the crease and he continued his good form hitting 23 of not more than 10/12 balls. Janiel hit the winning runs to finish with a superb 47 not out.
