OE U11 2010 Champions!

OE U11 2010 Champions!

Tonight saw our U11′s complete their championship win with a comprehensive victory away to Enfield CC U11.

OE’s batted first and suffered an early setback when Sam Hoar was dismissed for 1 with the score on 5. Lewis Pengratiou (46) and George Franzini (14) then set about building a platform from which the innings could progress from. The partnership was ended when George was a little early on a cover drive and looped a catch to extra cover. This brought Oscar to the crease and ultimately the match winning partnership was commenced. Oscar rotated the strike well allowing in form Lewis to punish any wayward bowling. The one thing that epitomised this partnership and the performance of this team this season was their calling and running between the wickets, once again the calling was clear and allowed these two to capitalise on any chance of a run. This partnership & the innings came to a close when Lewis was run out off the last ball attempting another run, the partnership was 109 and the team total was 149-3.

Over to the bowlers! In typical fashion the bowlers gave away no easy runs and the ground fielding was excellent. The wickets were shared round and a total of 9 bowlers were used, all bowling well and most taking wickets. Below is a list of the bowling figures and George Franzini’s two overs included a double wicket maiden.

This season has been a successful one for all our colts teams and thanks & congratulations must go to all the coaches.

Another impressive performance

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Thursday evening saw another impressive performance from the U15′s as they coasted to their fourth successive win in their last home game of the season.

Batting first, the innigs got off to a flyer with Jack Dyson continuing from his 2nd XI debut with a fluent 25. This was backed up from the skipper Janiel Nakrani with a brisk 33 before skying one to mid wicket. The innings was held together by Bharvin Thakkar who scored 24, he batted with more cricketing sense then many of those older than himself, rotatig the strike allowing Jack & Janiel to hit the big shots.

A total of 123 was posted, very competitve, especially with our bowling attack. Preetham & Kinner opened the bowling together an they were very tight. Preetham started with 2 maidens and Kinner bowled his four overs withou luck but maintained the gods start. The Janiel started a spell that would effectively end the match as a contest, he took four wickets, three of them bowled to remove four of the top five.

The U15′s are away next week to Maccabi where we hopethey will continue there good form.

Colts Excel on Debut

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Just a quick note to mention two performances from last week. Poor availability last week meant that several colts got their first taste of league cricket.

Jack Dyson played for the second xi and scored a very important 31 to help the 2′s to a maximum 10 batting points, we look forward to seeing Jack play some more once his school breaks for the summer.

In the third xi, Preetham Tamerisa made an impressive debut, in the field he took a catch effected a run out, and if that wasn’t enough, he hit 55 to help chase down the oppositions total and propel the third to their second win of the season.

Praise must go to the colts and it must also go the the coaches who give their time to help out with our colts.
