OE U11 2010 Champions!

OE U11 2010 Champions!

Tonight saw our U11′s complete their championship win with a comprehensive victory away to Enfield CC U11.

OE’s batted first and suffered an early setback when Sam Hoar was dismissed for 1 with the score on 5. Lewis Pengratiou (46) and George Franzini (14) then set about building a platform from which the innings could progress from. The partnership was ended when George was a little early on a cover drive and looped a catch to extra cover. This brought Oscar to the crease and ultimately the match winning partnership was commenced. Oscar rotated the strike well allowing in form Lewis to punish any wayward bowling. The one thing that epitomised this partnership and the performance of this team this season was their calling and running between the wickets, once again the calling was clear and allowed these two to capitalise on any chance of a run. This partnership & the innings came to a close when Lewis was run out off the last ball attempting another run, the partnership was 109 and the team total was 149-3.

Over to the bowlers! In typical fashion the bowlers gave away no easy runs and the ground fielding was excellent. The wickets were shared round and a total of 9 bowlers were used, all bowling well and most taking wickets. Below is a list of the bowling figures and George Franzini’s two overs included a double wicket maiden.

This season has been a successful one for all our colts teams and thanks & congratulations must go to all the coaches.

Superb Display by U11′s

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

The U11′s provided an excellent display in cricket skills to win at home on Monday (24th May). This win was setup by an excellent 2nd wicket partnership between George Franzini(44) and Louis Pangratiou (38). These two ran well, the calling was better than any I’ve seen in the club and some of the shots these two played were fantastic. George unfortunately lost his wicket in the last over going for the big shot to reach his 50, but this innings paved the way for an emphatic win.

The bowling and fielding standards matched the batting, the ground work was superb, people were backing up incoming throws and the pick of the bowlers was Liam Brennan who picked up 4 wickets in his short spell to guarantee victory.
