1s make it back to back wins

On a sweltering day at OEs, the 1s were looking to build on their 2 wins from the previous 3 games. Given the weather, the sensible option was to win the toss and bat on the hottest day of the year... the skipper did the first part and won the toss, but return to the players to let them know they were fielding first, cheers champ!
Bowling first against free-scoring Chorleywood would require early breakthroughs and although this didn't happen, the openers were kept quiet by Gomes & LSP's opening burst. Enter Zac & Namay. The first change bowlers continued with the tight lines and it was Zac who brought the breakthrough taking the outside edge of the opening bat. Namay took over bringing the threat as he removed the opposition skipper (averaging 100 before the weekend) and then Chorleywood's number 4. Rotation of the bowlers Gomes (1-43), LSP (1-45), Zac (2-34) Namay (2-42) and Kazi (2-26) allowed the 1s to restrict Chorleywood to 194 all out from 48 overs, a fantastic effort.
Following the previous week's successful run-chase, it was a case of could we do it again? Nav did his best Trevor Bayliss impression and it seemed to work. The 1s lost Vish & Shaun early on with the score reaching 40-2, but the third wicket partnership is what saw the side most of the way home. Namay and Kazi added 116, Namay took the attack to the bowlers lofting them to all parts whereas Kazi (38) manoeuvred the field expertly to keep the score moving until the partnership ended with score on 156. Namay was joined by Amit, the pair added 39 unbeaten runs which included Namay reaching his century off just 101 balls, a superb innings to add to a brilliant result.
The 1s move on to face fellow promoted side St Margaretsbury this Saturday.
