Hi everyone,
Our usual colts awards ceremony was postponed this year because of Covid, but now restrictions are lifted we are delighted to be able reward our young players for their efforts this season with an afternoon of cricket fun, followed by a BBQ and distribution of awards afterwards.
We shall run the Tournament in a 60 Ball (10 x 6 ball overs) format, 10 players per team, batting in pairs for 2 overs at a time, each bowler to bowl one over per innings except the wicket keeper whose over will be bowled by a player chosen by the captain. Each team will include one “Wildcard” player, from an older age group (U15) who must bat with his captain and is allowed to bowl one over as well. The total runs accumulated by all 5 batting pairs in an innings will decide who wins. Wickets count as minus 5 runs.

Timings for the afternoon are as follows:
1.00pm Semi-Final 1 Spirit vs Invincibles
2.30pm Semi-final 2 Fire vs Superchargers
4.00pm Final
5.30pm(approx.) Awards ceremony

Please note: In order to prevent any arguments/delays on the day, the team selector’s (i.e. MY) decision is final! I have endeavoured to ensure the sides are as equal as possible. I would also be grateful if everyone could make sure they arrive promptly to ensure we keep to the schedule.
IF YOU ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ATTEND PLEASE INFORM ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THAT I CAN REWORK THE SIDES/FORMAT IN GOOD TIME FOR THE EVENT ITSELF. The teams are based on those who have made their child available and then confirmed their attendance on Pitchero when selected. As you can see, this has taken quite a lot of planning and I sincerely hope the participants are not let down by players pulling out or not showing up.

It should be a fun day for all; the bar will be open and I'm hoping to make sure we have a food offering of some sort so come along and enjoy the action and then celebrate our colts' achievements. Our Senior T20 side are competing in the Herts Finals on the same day and may possibly be returning to the ground afterwards with a trophy.....?!
